Worship Volunteers

The first step toward success for the “Power of 12” has taken place.  What was the first step?  Recruitment!  It’s been great to have so many members step up to the plate and be willing to serve as Sunday morning worship volunteers.  That was the first step, now on to the other final steps: communication, training, and celebrating.

COMMUNICATION:
  • If you are wondering: what team you are on or whose on that team with you?

Check the back of the newly published church directory.  It has a listing of all the teams, the members, and the positions they serve in.  Where do you get a new church directory?  They can be picked up at the members mailboxes.  We’ve decided not to mail them to each household to save on postage.  If you must receive them by mail, call the church office to arrange for delivery.

  • If you are wondering: “How do I find a replacement for a day I’m assigned to serve but can’t?”

Check the back of the newly published church directory.  It has a listing of all the volunteers not just by team but also by position:  altar guild, usher, reader etc.

  • If you are wondering:  “What do I do if I’ve contacted three folks to switch with and still haven’t found a substitute?

Contact the church office and we’ll take it from there.  We will ask you to let us know who you’ve already contacted so we don’t ask them twice.  If you can let us know before Thursday on the week your serving we can often get the names of those who are serving into the bulletin.

TRAINING:
  • How do I know what to do now that I’ve volunteered?

Instructions are available for download, printing or reading below.  These instructional brochures are also available by the member mailboxes at church just in case you want to refresh your memory when you get here.
If you’d prefer personal “hands on” instructions, during February and March the Adult Forum (Sundays from 9:15 am to 10:15 am) will be used to provide instructional training for all the various Power of 12 positions.  The schedule is as follows:

  • Sunday, March 7th - Usher Training
  • Sunday, March 14th - Altar Guild Training- early service
  • Sunday, March 21st- Altar Guild Training- late service
  • Sunday, April 11th- Ambassador Training with John & Jeri Brown
CELEBRATION:

The worship and music ministry team would like to invite everyone who is serving on a “Power of 12” team to a “celebration of ministry” picnic on Saturday, April 10th from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Main course will be provided bring a side dish or desert to share.  The main purpose is to allow teams a chance to get to know each other better, organize themselves a little better, and perhaps choose a “Biblical” name for their team.  A secondary purpose is to say thank you for serving and allow those not on teams to join a team, as well as answer  any questions that have arisen in serving on “Power of 12” teams.

If you have already signed up, check the schedule below. If God is calling you and you would like to become a part of the "Power of 12", contact Pastor Mike  pastor@faithcrco.org
