Team Leader: Pastor Ebassa |
| When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons. John Newton |

January 8th, we had a bible study. We began a new series on how to be young and Christian in the 21st century America. January 15th, Sunday morning we began our red envelop fundraiser for the youth. Many thanks to so many of you who have already contributed. It’s exciting to see so many red envelopes in the offering plate each Sunday. If you have not already picked up an envelope, you still have the opportunity to participate but hurry there are less than 30 envelopes left. Sunday evening we had a bible study. We talked about some challenges facing the youth and struggles of making sense of Christianity with all the other theories of Darwinism… January 22nd, we had a night of fellowship as we joined the confirmation class for dinner and played “gaga—ball” January 29th, we met at Qdoba’s for dinner and enjoyed each others company for a night of fellowship!

Youth Encounter and Kids Against Hunger April 13-15, 2012. FLY will be hosting a Youth Encounter performance team as well as sponsoring a Kids Against Hunger packaging event April 13-15. Youth Encounter is charitable organization that partners with Christian communities to strengthen their youth ministry particularly by sending Traveling music ministry teams across the country to perform in local congregations. Youth Encounter has also partnered with Kids Against Hunger to provide highly nutritious, life-saving meals for starving children at home and around the world for just $0.25 a meal! Kids Against Hunger’s goal is to eradicate world hunger. It tries to achieve this goal by having volunteers package highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice casserole by volunteers at numerous locations within the USA and Canada. Since 2009, volunteers at Kids Against Hunger’s food packaging centers have packaged over 48 million meals for children and their families around the world and around the corner. In order to keep the cost low, a bulk of 6000.00 meals are packaged at time and the cost is $1,500.00. If you want to make a big impact and difference to children who are in dire need of nutritious meals here in our country and around the globe, this is the perfect opportunity for you. We will be need at least 50 volunteers to package the meals, and we can also use donations to offset the cost! For more information or to volunteer, please contact pastorebassa@faithcrco.org or 303-688-3476! |

This simple fund raiser which is designed to allow as many folks as possible to participate in financially supporting Faith’s Youth Program was a great success. 100 envelopes were put out in the narthex to be claimed, filled by folks with the appropriately matching dollar amount and then turned in to the church. 80 of the 100 envelopes were claimed and from those that were turned in the Youth have raised $2,796 to date. If you still have your red envelope hanging around the house its not too late to turn it in. |
