Welcome to Rotation Sunday School

Moses

The next two rotations will be about Moses.  It is split into two rotations because Moses did a lot.  The first rotation will begin by connecting how the Hebrews came to live in Egypt (this is actually the end of the Joseph story) and how they then became slaves in Egypt.  Then the kids will learn about the story of baby Moses, the burning bush and the plagues.
The second Moses unit will begin on March 7.  The kids will learn about the last plague (Passover), the crossing of the Red Sea and the Ten Commandments.   During this time you will see crafts that the kids have made and probably hear about some of the snacks that tie into the Moses stories.  The 3rd-6th graders will memorize the Ten Commandments during the second Moses rotation and the preschoolers – 2nd graders will be eating a fun snack as they learn about the parting of the Red Sea.  Overall it should be a fun rotation and the kids will learn a lot about Moses.

A Big Thank You!

We have had several volunteers helping by being puppeteers or guest speakers in Sunday school recently.  These people really help the kids understand the lessons and make some of the people we are studying come to life!  If you see any of the people listed below (many of them are our youth), give them a big thank you – they are helping your child learn even more in Sunday school. Thank you to:  Laura Whitaker, Jamie Green, Denise Swack, Kira Mayberry & Michelle Burke!

Bible Bucks Store

The Bible bucks store will be open two more time during this Sunday school year.  The next time the store will be open will be sometime in March.  We will let the kids know at least one week before the store will be open.  The last time the Bible bucks store will be open will be one of the last weeks of Sunday school, sometime in May.
Keep working on those memory verses and remember to bring your Bibles to Sunday school 3rd-6th graders!

Preschool–2nd Grade Parents!!!

Please remember to sign-in and sign-out your child each week so that we know that they have been dropped off by you and delivered safely back to you.

Design Team

The design team is a group of people who works to design the lesson plans for Sunday school.  We use many resources to come up with ideas and lessons for the kids.  We also gather supplies for the shepherds each week and make sure they have a copy of the lesson plan.  We love what we do!  If you have any questions about Sunday school or would like to help out, just let one of us know!

We offer Sunday School for PreK-6 graders September through May.
We have a bible presentation for 3rd graders in the fall of the Sunday School year.
4th graders receive Communion instruction and celebrate their 1st Communion in the spring of the Sunday School year.
5th & 6th Graders receive acolyte training and are asked to volunteer as acolytes during worship services.

First Communion

Faith believes all baptized believers in Christ are welcome to the Lords’ table.  Communion instruction formally begins with the pastor instructing 4th graders about communion during the Lenten season. However, a child younger than 4th grade may commune if 3 criteria are met:

  • The child expresses a sincere interest in receiving the sacrament.
  • The parents agree to the child's request.
  • The pastor meets with the child (and/or parents) to verify the child's sincere request.

Many children come to our congregation already receiving communion prior to 4th grade.  We do not make the child stop taking communion but simply ask that the pastor be informed of the situation.
