BREAD BAKING: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4TH, 6-8 P.M.

We want to extend an invitation to all of our 4th graders and their parents to Bread baking session, on Wednesday evening April 4th from 6 pm to 8 pm.  If you have a child in 5th or 6th grade that has missed communion instruction they are invited to join this class. The class is invited to receive communion at the Maundy Thursday 7 pm service on Thursday, April 5th.

Faith believes all baptized believers in Christ are welcome to the Lords’ table.  Communion instruction formally begins with the pastor instructing 4th graders about communion during the Lenten season.

However, a child younger than 4th grade may commune if 3 criteria are met:

  • The child expresses a sincere interest in receiving the sacrament.
  • The parents agree to the child's request.
  • The pastor meets with the child (and/or parents) to verify the child's sincere request.

Many children come to our congregation already receiving communion prior to 4th grade.  We do not make the child stop taking communion, but simply ask that the pastor be informed of the situation.
