A Message From Our Council

February 2012
Thank you to those that have turned in your pledges!

64 families turned in pledges for an amount of $249,660.  THANK YOU!  Last year, 91 families pledged an amount of $344,507.  If the 37 that pledged last year, would pledge the same amount they did last year ($117,702), our commitments for 2012 would be $367,362. Following is a pledge history:

  • 2009   92 pledges $294,852
  • 2010 124 pledges $404,306
  • 2011   91 pledges $344,507
  • 2012   64 pledges $249,660

Welcome to our new 2012 council members:

 President:                   Michelle Arguello
 President Elect:          John Ramsey
 President Emeritus:    John Brown
 Treasurer:                  Wendy Clements
 Member-at-Large:      Jody Lawson

Thank you to the following for continuing for one more year of service:

 Financial Secretary:   Robin Remund
 Member-at-Large:     Fred Hessler
 Member-at-Large:     Jody Davidson

Our thanks to John and Mimi Ramsey (Lauren and John Paul too!) for hosting the council and staff appreciation Christmas party.  It was sad to send off Chris Clements our council member at large as he finishes his term but I’m sure we’ll see him around since his wife, Wendy is coming on as our Treasurer.  John Ramsey moves over after finishing his term as Treasurer into the roll of President Elect and will be serving as the council’s Preschool Liaison to the Preschool Advisory Board.  Michelle Arguello matriculates up from the President elect position to President for 2012.  John Brown has ably and dutifully fulfilled his term as council president and now begins the “newly minted” term created by our new constitution and bylaws of President Emeritus.  God’s blessings be with you as you break in this new position!  We’re pleased to welcome back for another full term Jody Davidson who will again be serving a two year term as member at large.  Its exciting to know that when council runs well we not only avoid burning out our volunteers but inspire them to continue serving God through this ministry.  We’d also like to extend a warm welcome to Jody Lawson who comes on as member at large to replace outgoing Chris Clements.
Last year’s council accomplished much in the life of our congregation...overseeing the call process for hiring Pr. Ebassa as well as passing a new constitution and bylaws as well as handling the regular flow of congregational leadership responsibilities.  We invite Faith’s membership to keep all of Faith’s council and staff in your prayers, asking for another year of Godly service and continued leadership for the glory of God.  Speaking of leadership this year our council’s leadership focus is “Community:” the nurturing, enhancement, strengthening and growth of Faith’s Christian community.  Watch for ways this emphasis will be put into action throughout 2012 and please make an effort to help our council enhance our already vibrant community at Faith.  After all “Many hands make light work.”

THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE PLEDGED!  We are nearing our goal of 100 families turning in a pledge.  For those of you that haven’t turned in a pledge for 2012, The pledge cards are located by the member mailboxes.  You can mail them in or place them in the blue box in the church office.  If you’re interested in electronic giving, please see Dawnee in the church office.
