"How do
I schedule a wedding at Faith
Lutheran?" Our church requires that Faith’s pastor preside at weddings that take place in our sanctuary. The pastor is open to having other Christian clergy fully participate in the ceremony. Those wishing to be married at Faith should contact the church office to secure a date and availability of the pastor. While the fee structure is different for members and nonmembers the process is much the same. Couples are required to meet with the pastor three times prior to the ceremony. These meeting generally run an hour to hour and half. The first meeting is to establish a relationship between the pastor and couple with an emphasis on planning the wedding day and service. The second meeting focuses on premarital counseling. Before the second meeting the couple fills out a survey and turns it into the pastor. From this personality survey the pastor advises the couple of their strengths and weakness in an attempt to forewarn and forearm. The third meeting is to complete any unfinished business from the first two meetings, wedding service details or relational issues. A marriage booklet outlining these details and answering more questions is available from the church office. Return to index |

"How can
we make arrangements to have our
child baptized?" You need not be a member to have your child baptized. However, Faith encourages families to choose a church home so that baptisms are more than short term “rite of passage” ceremonies but rather long term commitments to raise a child as a part of God’s family. As such, (barring extenuating circumstances) baptisms take place at the gathering of God’s family; Sunday morning worship services. Most Sundays are available for baptisms but families should check with the church office for available dates. Couples requesting a baptism for their child are to meet with the pastor for one hour prior to the baptism. This meeting is both practical and spiritual. It focuses on the logistics of who stands where, says what, and so forth, as well as taking time to examine baptism’s meaning from a Christian/Lutheran viewpoint. Return to index |

"Does
Faith have a Sunday School
Program?" Yes, we offer a Sunday School program
for both
children and adults (Adult Forum) that meets
on Sunday
mornings between the first and second service at 9:15 a.m. The sessions
run between Labor Day and Memorial Day with a break during the summer. The Sunday School kids from preschool to 6th grade at Faith Lutheran learn about God, Jesus and the Bible by following the rotational model. What does that mean?!? Rotational Sunday School is a great way for kids to learn about God, Jesus and the Bible. Each rotation focuses on one story from the Bible (Noah for instance). For about 3-6 weeks, kids will learn about the same Bible story in different ways. For example, one week the kids may act out the Bible story, the next week they might make a themed snack, and another week they might play games that incorporate the theme. Return to index |

"At what
age should our children begin
Confirmation
Classes?" Faith begins its confirmation program in the summer of 6th grade and concludes in the spring of 8th grade. The program has a three-prong focus: education, fellowship, and service. 6th graders are encouraged to start the program with the summer fellowship activity: confirmation camp at Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp. After that classes are offered Sept.- May. on Sunday evenings twice a month from 5:00 p.m. –7:30 p.m. Classes include a lecture, dinner, games and a small group mentor time. Monthly service or fellowship events are available for children to encourage spiritual growth. An information packet is available from the church office outlining goals, objectives, activities, fees and schedules. Return to index |
